This feels a lot like that one loss against kc where they scored 4 early and the Yankees never got anything going. Hope for a better result. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yeah, but the Yanks were up 1-0 in that series, not down 1-0. They are going home after this one, but they played better on the road this season. |

Excellent job by Yamamoto. Yankees were off balance all night, waving at breaking balls and watching fastball strikes right down the pipe. Lot of guessing wrong. There didn't appear to be a team approach against the Japanese rookie.

Banda in to face the two lefties.
Chisholm takes a FB just inside at the top.
Takes a slider at the very bottom in the middle, 1-1
Swings over a slider going low and away; guessed FB, got the slide, 1-2
Takes his timeout.
Takes a slider well low, inside corner, 2-2
Slider at the knees, fouled off the left side.
Slider on the corner away, above the waist, popped to left-center, Teoscar moves left, catches, 2 down.

Are big name starters pulled early because of long term deals ? Yamamoto is still working his way back from an injury. This is the most pitches he's thrown since he got hurt. |

Rizzo takes a FB in the zone up and away, strike 1
Slider way low and outside, he lays off, 1-1
Chases a slider a few inches closer to the plate but still well out of the zone low/away, 1-2
Takes his timeout.
Dammit
Gets a bad slider below middle, misses it, topping it foul. That was a mistake, Rizzo.

Slider low/away, lays off it, 2-2 on Rizzo.
Fires a FB way high, doesn't chase up the ladder, count goes full.
FB up and in, hits Rizzo the top hand as he checks. Gameday says a walk, but it's a HBP for sure.
