Coles days of being a dominant pitcher are gone
His K rate and SO/W have declined for 4 consective seasons and his numbers across the board are his worst since 2017
On top of that, his Elbow Injury that could very possibly limit him for the rest of his career
If they let Cole walk (like they should) the Yankess will have about $85M to sign Soto and replace Cole (w/ Burns) ...
The Addition of Burns over Cole would be an Immediate upgrade on a team that went to the World Series and lost by 2 plays (The boneheaded choice of Nester and depending on who you blame Rizzo/Cole ... both will be gone.)
Anyone who thinks Cole cost them the 5th inn with lack of hustle should be happy to let him walk ... I dont blame him (it was Clearly fat Rizzo who was released) but I still think they should let Cole walk.
Stantons Value his gone way up after this season and his post season performance ... Now would be the perfect time to try to trade him to a contender which would free up another $22M against the cap to add pitching and less of and possibly sign Gleyber at a very team friendly contract. Other potential trade canidates Cabrera, Tervino and Grisham. Stroman and DJL have no trade value ... Hopefully Stro can be a good 5/6 pitcher and DJL (might be on the DL entire season)
Young blood like Dominguez, Beeter, Gomez, Vivas, Durbin, and Rice should all be competing for jobs (wild cards Warren, Messinger, Rafael Flores, Rumfeld, Everson Pereira)
Proven young players like Schmidt, Gil, Wells, Volpe, Chisholm hopefully take it to the next level
