A while back I went and looked up the Colts QB's after Unitas. Other than Bert Jones (the Ruston Rifle or some such) it was pretty much a clown show. Gary Hogeboom, Jack Trudeau, Mike Pagel, Art Schlister (of gambling fame!), Chris Chandler, Blair Kiel, Mark Hermann, Jeff George. Yuck. Of course, since they drafted Peyton, they've been pretty blessed in the QB department, except for the "Suck for Luck" year. I don't even remember Blair Kiel. Wasn't that the girl on "The Facts of Life"??? Jeff George had a cannon. I was a big believer. He sorta let me down... I remember Blair Kiel from his college days at Notre Dame, I wasn't aware that he played in the NFL.

Depends on your definition of "played."

But even worse was that somehow the Colts thought Marty Domrss would be better. He did okay in his first year ‘72) in Baltimore, throwing 11 TDS to 6 INT. He followed that up with 9 TD and 13 INT, and his next to last season in town (the final year he got significant playing time he threw 0 TD and 12 INT. Yech. The Colts struggled mightily to find good quarterbacking for a while until they landed Bert Jones... A while back I went and looked up the Colts QB's after Unitas. I remember when first a guy named George Shaw, and then Gary Cuozzo, were Johnny U's backups. I also remember that for many years, because of Baltimore Blue Laws, the Colts had to start their games at 2 PM, which meant they missed out on a lot of national TV coverage since they were out of synch with the times of other NFL games.

Guess I was kinda lumping Morral and Unitas into the same era.

Chuck says:
Hi, Kaseeb
Thanks for the message. I will contact dome this summer. Am currently at my place in Fort Lauderdale and will be here until August 8 and then return to Singapore. It’s great to be back, and yes, the Yanks are rocking. Hopefully they can keep it up although they will need to pick up an arm for their rotation and maybe a reliever as I don’t know if Sevi and Betances will be back or not in time to help much. Please give my best to all on the site. I visit occasionally and it looks like it’s still a healthy and enthusiastic group
Kind Regards, Chuck
