Hi gang -- I must admit Ukraine is one of the handful of European countries I've never been to (although there could be some irresistible deals coming up soon.) After leaving Phoenix we spent some time in remote parts of Arizona along the Arizona Trail, where men are men but WiFi is erratic. So as I explained elsewhere I am working furiously to catch back up here. Hope this doesn't go down as an unexcused absence! Glad to see you back pipps! The board is definitely a lot more fun and interesting when you are around! As always, you are too kind Kaybli. I love this place, and if it's any consolation I do feel guilty during a prolonged absence, in part because I'm afraid people will think something happened to me on account of my being a superannuated relic from a bygone era. Alas, there are times when an absence is unavoidable, but for sure if anything were seriously amiss, you all would be informed.

I do get concerned, especially since I’m only one spot away from being the elder here now… and you’re that step… Each time we lose the eldest poster there is information that will no longer be available. I imagine that there’s a good chance that Granforks, banfoulballs, and others from the original flavor have suffered a fatality among them, or may have lost other faculties that could make them incapable of participating… I hope I’m wrong and we see them again someday soon…

I don't think there are a lot of young types on this board. I am not sure young types frequent boards. Its a 90's phenom.

While at work today I found a housing development with about 30 homes under construction. The traffic was crazy in the area,
My neighbors sold their house at a price that was crazy high. Now I want to sell and go live somewhere else while the housing market is ripe. (I suspect a bubble).
People are moving here left and right (Pueblo West). When our neighbors listed their house some of the other neighbors were incredulous. They thought it was listed at double it’s worth, but it sold within about a week at the asking price of $369,000. My house has one more bedroom and one more bathroom than theirs, so it should even go higher.
I’m trying to finish my tax forms so I can turn them over to my CPA and I can’t even focus.
For some reason all of this has my anxiety level through the roof!
Aaaaaaaaggggggghhhhhhh!!
I was fine until today. I was thinking about all of this, but it wasn’t bothering me near as much. Now? Half crazy! …
Homes in some towns are even higher, but since we want to downsize there are a few opportunities on the market to flip out of this one and do a bit of work on something smaller (and less expensive, at least for now).
Opportunity can be stressful! … 🤪🤩😎

I am hoping the preceding post will be cathartic to me and calm my ass down!

I know. I’m looking at a couple of cabins. One has no central heat, so I would have to add that. The other still needs a well and septic dug, so there’s that. Both are quite a bit smaller and out in the country. So I’d need some sort of storage too, and there is no garage at either. And a third one needs electricity connected (power at lot corner) and is VERY remote. People stress me out in large numbers theses days…

I’d prefer that, to be honest. I waited a bit long to go into the woods, but I can still handle it. My main goal is to try to get to a higher elevation where the heat is not so oppressive in summer. Enough of this “mile high” stuff. I need to go up a couple thousand more feet. Anyway, typing this DID turn out to be cathartic. I have the taxes ready to drop off in the morning, right on the “requested” deadline by my tax preparer. I was able to focus. Getting that out of the way has dropped my anxiety level a couple of notches, so now I can look forward to working tomorrow AND reaching out to a real estate agent or two to look into what I need to do.

I may hold off a bit beyond opening day. The options in some part of this state can be limited due to sight lines, etc.. I’ve seen a few real estate ads where they stress very strongly that reception is great for Tv and Internet. That’s because in a lot of places, it’s terrible!

At least it would be nice if we could. We have every year since I went “renegade”…

I wait until a couple hours before the deadline, just to see if I can get it in on time. Sarah did ours as soon as she’d have our W-2s. We’d have a refund before most even did their taxes.
