Yankees to give up three prospects for Orioles closer Zach Britton, sources say
The New York Yankees have agreed to a deal to acquire former All-Star reliever Zach Britton from the Baltimore Orioles for three minor league pitchers, a source confirmed.
The deal, which has not been finalized, would send right-handed starter Dillon Tate, left-handed starter Josh Rogers and righty reliever Cody Carroll to Baltimore.

Britton can definitely be an elite reliever but don’t the Yankees need starters ?

Agreed that they need help at SP, but Britton should be a great get, and we can still add SP...

No brainer of a deal considering Rule 5 ramifications this upcoming offseason, expecting some more clearing out of the farm over next week.

Absolutely, maize. A no brainer of a deal. Depending on his performance and how he takes to NY and the guys in the clubhouse, he could be signed in the off season. I think he will be a good fit. CC will make sure he’s treated well.

this is the move I had hoped for.....the guy is so tough to face, it will be good to see him in pinstripes....he's still fairly young...I hope the Yankees can lock him up for 5 years or so....
I am warming a bit to the idea of getting Happ, assuming that we would not have to give up much to get him...

I'm honestly pretty surprised I haven't seen James Shields mentioned. Outside of a few blowups and early struggles he has been really solid this year. Not sure how his Linedrive/Hard hit rate would play in Yankee stadium but he would be an interesting target I think.

I like this deal.. More so for when we get to the playoffs. We can really shorten games now. I'm fact... We might be able to do a bullpen game if we win Wild Card... There for saving Sevy for Game 1. Or we start Gray/new addition in WC game with bullpen ready first sign of trouble... There by saving Sevy CC Tanaka for ALDS

And like CB said... Keeps him away from Boston. Sucks we couldn't get Evo... Id put him in one if we obtained a better statter

We did not upgrade SP much although they tried. To get a great starter would have cost too much.
