I guess Walker will rotate between 1B-2B (Torres will surely need to rest soon)-3B-OF-DH so we can continue to get him going...This is borderline strange at this point...

Walker has been better lately but taking Andujar out of the lineup is just a poor decision, especially coming off the All Star break.

Hate to bring this up, but I just realized we are only 4 games up on the Mariners for the Wild Card and 5.5 games up on Oakland. I thought we had the Wild Card or at least the second Wild Card pretty much sealed but that's not the case. Baseball Prospectus still puts our playoff odds at 99.6 percent. Seems a little high.

i’ve been Watching that margin lately, too. That’s why i’ve been bitching that we have to start playing better baseball. Really, there is no good excuse for letting the Red Sox open up such a large gap again. There are too many teams that are playing well for the Yanks to get lazy. (Another reason Sanchez has me so pissed off at him). No more baby bombers. Grow up. Even if today’s playoff chances ARE 99.6%, If the WC lead shrivels much more that number will also drop quickly. Each game of lead lost will be worth about 10% at this stage.

Junis pitched well early this season with an ERA in the middle threes range. He handled the Yankees fairly well, allowing 2 runs on 7 singles and a walk in 5.1 innings.
June and July have not been kind to the young pitcher however, as he’s winless in 7 starts with a penchant for allowing the long ball (about one for each ten hitters, YIKES!) and an ERA around 8.
We have to treat him much more rudely than earlier this season...

Has Meridith lost a few pounds? I hope so. I’d be a shame for someone so young to lose control of her weight permanently...So hard on health...

I wouldn't worry about the Mariners. As soon as Cano returns, they'll get back to playing .500 ball. Cano exudes that type of leadership.

Sonny works out of trouble. Walked the bases loaded to pitch to the Royals' best hitter...huge out!
