He also just allowed 5 runs in one inning by throwing about 15 dough balls right over the plate. He has the mental toughness of a scared rabbit. Odd. I’ve noticed that he has a slight facial resemblance to a cat, especially when he opens his mouth wide. It’s a large pie hole, and when it opens it sort of squishes his eyes into a slant, sort of like a cat. I’m glad I missed this start. I don’t think i’d have been thinking about a scared rabbit. More like a cat in a litter box, covering up the mess he made... me-OW... To the bullpen with ye, Sonny Boy...Lance Lynn will take you to school...

This is a perplexing club, hope they have one good run in em the last two months. A split in Boston is all we can ask for, but will not be easy. Yea but 2-2 only just treads water and crosses 4 games off the calendar. But realistically with where we are at the moment, I can't see anything more. Frankly, I'd be pleasantly surprised if we split.

While I was admittedly not a fan of getting either Happ or Lynn in trade, getting both may be a difference-maker for the Yankees....chances now are that either would be preferable to Gray in a playoff start....this also raises what role Gray could have the rest of the season....spot starter, as Cessa was recently used....innings-eater when the starter gets blown out...or do the Yankees continue to give him starts?
I see Happ getting a solid chance to be the 4th starter, and Lynn the 5th, with Gray on the outside unless Happ and Lynn stink up some starts.....
This is the time in the season when the Yankees are going to have to try to win every game by putting their best out there....Cashman and Boone have surely seen enough of Gray such that they will look hard at the alternatives they now have...

I hope Gray has a College Degree...the way he is pitching (with only a HS Degree???) the job market is limited: 1. A Dog Walker 2. "With that Cheese Burger would you like to Super Size the Fries?" 3. A Uber Driver 4. "Welcome to Wal-Mart, can I help you find something?" 5. A Dollar Store Clerk 6. A Handy Man 7. A Waiter 8. A used Car Salesman 9. Washing Car Windows when cars at stopped at Red Lights 10.Playing Baseball in North Korea www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/yankees-gray-defends-tweet-as-inside-joke-with-friend/ar-BBLnshb?ocid=U147DHP

Down our best player and with our best pitcher not being himself for the last month againstthe best team in baseball? A split would be great. I'm hoping they can keep their standing in the wild card before Judge and Sanchez come back and Severino hopefully gets back to his old self.

Baseball has a mind of it's own. You can be playing so poorly that the darkness looms over the team today, but at some point you bottom out and suddenly turn it around. We need one of those turnarounds right now...

I wondered aloud here yesterday as to what the Yankees would do with Gray...I applaud their removing him from the rotation, for the time being, at least....I sense that Boone is finally starting to show some urgency in his lineups, and maybe in managing the game....
