Steve Pearce Career vs Yankees (including this game) .285/.377/.523 13 HR 29 RBI .900 OPS (59 games) MLB Career Numbers .257/.334/.444 .778 OPS 87 HR 280 RBI. Therefore Pearce has hit over 10% of his career HR and RBI against the yankees. Honestly, WTF? He's just not that good. Except against us. We should have acquired him just to play defense. Much as Happ, Britton and Lynn could be smart pickups because of their record against the Sox, Boston was smart to add this guy if you believe this isn't just some weird fluke. And it didn't seem flukey last night.

We need to just forget about this game and turn things around tomorrow. What game?

I woke up today & my Butt hurt really bad...
I couldn't figure out why until I remembered that the RS 'KICK OUR ASS' last night.
Good Job 'Boone Wine'; CC could have gone another inning or two...

It would not have mattered last night but as everyone knows the Yankees are absolutely abysmal with runners in scoring postition. In June Didi and Bird hit less than .200 with RISP. From July 12-July 31 the Yankees had NO hits with the bases loaded. This year the Yankees are hitting .223 with the bases loaded and the Red Sox are hitting .330. I appreciate the better than expected defense Stanton has given the Yankees and the home runs but is anybody else tired of seeing him coming up with runners on and swing at 3 pitches that were never near the strike zone? Frustrating isn't it.

Yes, the Yankees troubles with runners in scoring position are getting very frustrating indeed. I don't know what the problem is, too much pressure or a bad approach?

CC was struggling a bit, and his defense was not helping....including his own wild throw...the HP umpire had an erratic strike zone...but, the Yankees had put up an early four runs, and I was expecting CC to at least start the 4th facing Bradley Jr., a guy that CC usually dominates...…have CC start the 4th and go hitter to hitter seemed reasonable….maybe there was something more to that than we know.... Boone was going to have to go to the bullpen early in that game at any rate, based on CC's pitch count, and his pitchers let him down....

It really is unbelievable that so much of his career stats come against the Yankees def not some fluke. As far as RISP I believe it was said on the broadcast the Yankees actually lead the majors in sac fly’s which surprises me as their RISP overall are not that good.

Thanks. Yankee fan for 60 years. Great board. The RISP problem has been going on before this year but seems worse this year without Sanchez(he wasn't good before his injury) and now missing Judge. Home runs can make up for some problems. It just seems some hitters are swinging and missing at the same pitching. Could it be the hitting coach? I don't know, just wondering.

I was on the old board and if I remember correctly someone on there mentioned it and so I came over. Have actually been lurking here for awhile.
