I think that is what we are in now (although I remember 78, so miracles are possible). The good news is that Oakland is now ahead of Seattle because in a one game series we have a better chance against them then Seattle.

we have the misfortune to be in the same division as a team which may be spoken of someday as equal to the '27 Yankees.....any other division and we open with a 5 game series, and who knows?....
I am not optimistic for a long run in postseason, but let's hope for the best...the best being that someone takes out the Red Sox...

I am with you on the wild card thing Noetsi although like most of us fans I still hold out hope for a Sox swoon and a Yankees resurgence. Whatever happens I would just like to see improvement from the team going forward. I think a healthy Judge will really help. I would like to pose this question to those on this board that are smarter than me. I really liked what Ronald Torreyes brought to the team both on the filed and in the dugout. What would be wrong with bringing him up and releasing Voit. I realize he is a backup first baseman but Walker can do that and Torreyes can play the other infield positions. He also batted .323 in 65 plate appearance. Nothing in Voit's history suggests he will ever do that. Just a question!

He MIGHT EVEN be a better SP & BP than we have right now??? Yes, I know he is NOT a pitcher; just full of energy, passion & a great attitude = Everything WE need right now.

If passion and grit along with enthusiasm would win the pennant, they’d let me play for them. If this team is in need of a rescue by Torres, the team ca’t bd saved. He’s a borderline defender, and let’s not pretend for a moment that he’s anywhere close to a legit .323 hitter.
Yes. I like him. He’s fun, and he plays hard. But we don’t need him...if a situation arises where there is an opening for a reserve infielder, he’ll do. Right now we don’t seem to need that.

Recovering from injuries would help, but our starting pitching is really thin.

Get past the 1 game series running on all cylinders and I wouldn't bet against them. Judge and Sanchez being out totally changes this teams batting order. Get them back and catch a groove.

He was in AAA, and he wasn't playing all that great. Then he had to leave for a few weeks because there was an undisclosed "situation" with his wife, believed to be medical. But he was already in the minors when that happened...

Ok that explains this year, but why were the celebrations cut halfway through the playoffs when they were making a big deal over it?

Nothing in Voit's history suggests he will ever do that. Just a question! [ Nothing in Torreyes’s history suggested that he would have been able to do it either. Let’s not get all Sterling and Waldman about Torreyes. He’s a backup utility infielder that makes contact and doesn’t hit for power. We are lucky to have him in case someone better gets injured but that’s it.

Perhaps I missed something???
