I like Cessa but this game so far shows why I am doubtful he can be a good major league pitcher. He has a very live fastball but he’s inconsistent with everything else. I don’t think they’re making a mistake sticking with him because it wouldn’t take much for him to be a good starting pitcher but he just doesn’t seem to have put it all together yet.

I don't think Cessa will ever "put it together." His mechanics are not exactly "Mariano-esque." Pitching motion is too violent and jerky to be repeatable. Nice arm, but I do not see a successful future starter at the ML level.
