I still recall when we first got O’Neill and I saw him strike out the first couple of times. Something about the angular profile when he would put his head down and drag the bat behind him on the way to the dugout reminded me of a Doonesbury character...

That was while I was napping...thanks for posting. That's the first time I can recall a manager getting into a crouch to demonstrate a ball and strike call...Even Earl Weaver...Funny how many Oriole games I've seen even though I didn't like them. There was a time when you couldn't see your favorite team on TV at any price unless you lived in their viewing area. It was an awful time... (: So you only saw your favorite when the local team traveled to their town or they were on the game of the week...and then only when the rest of the family wanted to watch baseball on the family's only TV... It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Hmmm. I might have a novel there...

It was entertaining but I’ll be surprised if he isn’t disciplined for this. He seemed like he made contact with the umpire a few times. That umpire was incompetent, by the way, but nevertheless... |
