Other than the hitting, pitching, catching and defense, Yanks have played well tonight. I'll let you vampires pull out the victory over the last 3 innings. Better luck on Friday I hope. How can you leave? We were going to restart the Haiku...

Gee thanks, Gary. You got back some of what you let in in the first inning...I’m sure Severino will pat you on the back for that...

This is a spacey relief pitcher...Plus he poured water on his hair before he entered the game. His wet hair looks almost Dennis Eckersley hair bad...
Is he looking to the sky for a ride back to his home planet?...

Sanchez the worst defensive catcher in the league... hard to believe.

Sooo. Is there any general consensus of what's wrong with Sevy? I read he had the lowest velocity of any start since 2016. But in the first inning he also allowed like 5 hits on pitches over 100. So I guess it's not the velocity.
Maybe he's tipping his pitches? IDK. I'm sure if he was the coaching staff would have figured it out and fixed it by now.
I don't think he's hurt. Maybe he needs some rest. Going into the all Star game he had a start or two that wasn't very Sevy like if I remember correctly. I was hoping he'd get some extra rest instead of pitching in that game but I was excited to see him pitch. Maybe he just needs some extra rest.
Anybody got some insight?

Poor fastball command, inconsistent slider and a non-existent change up, it all adds up to a struggling Sevy. Sanchez was terrible in the first inning but I don't think he's the problem, especially when you consider how great Sevy was pitching to him earlier in the season.

But something has to be causing those issues. Is it mechanical? I don't think so because I would hope the coaches would have picked up on it and helped him out by now. Is it fatigue? Either way I would've skipped a couple starts in July to give him a breather. Not like he was giving the Yankees a chance to win...
