I guess this stat ( courtesy of RAB) fits snugly under the heading of how frustrating can life be: Yankees with the bases loaded- .243/.285/.400 (83 OPS+). That translates into 20th in average, 24th in OBP, 18th in slugging and 20th in OPS+. The article also says that the team has the 5th lowest K rate with the bases juiced, so it’s not even a non contact problem. Color me puzzled how this team laden with so much offensive talent can be so putrid in these situations although Miggy came through today and Didi did also against the Twins. Critics who say the team is an all or nothing bunch may have a point.

Aw man, we were going crazy after Andujar hit the grand slam and sure the Yankees would come back from the 8-1 deficit but alas it was not to be. My streak of seeing 10 straight wins in person (including a wild card and ALCS game) is now over. It was fun while it lasted! Here's the obligatory field picture from the game:

Great seats Kaybli, you need to start a new winning streak soon. I got tickets to the Wild Card game so that will be my first win of the new streak! And then I got tickets to the ALDS home game 2 with Boston so that will be the second win of the new streak!
