This does not include any fine which are certain. For what its worth I do not agree at deliberately throwing at another player, ever. In this case the HBP does not appear to have been deliberate. CC is defensive of yankee players which is fine, but it has to be leavened with common sense.
It is possible that he might be suspended during the play offs which would be very bad.

I don't think he'll get suspended for the playoffs. That'd be terrible.

I don't think he'll get suspended for the playoffs. That'd be terrible. There’s not only no reason to believe he’d be suspended for the playoffs, there’s clear precedent that he won’t be. One only would need to remember last season’s playoffs to know that.

Like most of you guys, I don't really like to get too deeply into HBP wars because of the obvious injury potential, but they had it coming and CC did it just the right way. An emotional lift for the team, you could see it. My guess is the Yanks will give him the 500K bonus anyway -- they would never notice it had gone from their account to his -- and everybody's happy.

I also doubt CC would miss it much... by my calculations to the average family that would compute to losing about 5-7 dollars. Money is money, but when you’re pulling in about $20M per year, about all it will amount to is that his accountants will advise him to donate a bit less to a charity somewhere...

I also think the Yankees will pay CC the 500K bonus anyway, due to the circumstances. A small price to pay for all CC has done and meant to the organization the past decade.

I would hope so, that would be the right thing to do. But with some of the idiots in the FO and close to ownership you never know.

Or, writing the extra bucks into next year if there would be league implications to paying him anyway...

CC Sabathia suspended five games after getting ejected for retaliation pitch vs. Rays
The suspension, if upheld, will be served at the beginning of the 2019 season

This is about what I expected, and it’s deserved. Ironically, there is scant chance he would be slated to pitch one of the first five games for the Yanks if he’s with the team next year, so this basically amounts to losing five days pay and no playing time...
