Whole Foods is the trendy place to get "healthy" food selections out here in Chicago, as if the other supermarkets in the ares sell nothing but unhealthy food products.

Every regular supermarket selling the prepackaged shit that big food companies sell are partial foods stores. If you’re lucky, there’s some part of that crap that’s actually still food.

Once you start reading labels and see how much crap is added to all sorts of food it is pretty sobering.

I saw Neil Young's performance at Farm Aid on TV the other day. He told everyone that "shit you get a Safeway is killing you" and admonished the audience numerous times to go to a farmer's market, where they have real food that's good for you. We've all heard that at the Farm Aid concerts before, but Young had a way of delivering that message that made me feel like if I don't go, he's going to personally come to my house and kick my ass. That is a very menacing face when he turns angry and gives you hell... If you get a chance to catch that performance, the music is, well...It's Neil Young as an old man singing. He still has the same voice, so the music is good. But that message is powerful. He shouts menacingly to the audience "Where you going to go tomorrow"? <the farmer's market>. Then, "I couldn't hear that. Where you going to go tomorrow" < The Farmer's Market> "You better! Your life could depend on it. Your family's health depends on it"! It makes you feel like your first boss ever is giving you the most hell he ever did... (: Good old Neil... (:

I posted that last post before I saw Chi's post. I actually turned the channel just as Willie was coming on the stage, so I suppose I missed the dual message... LOL...At least I have a witness...

We've had more controversy over bad pet food than we've had over bad human food, which seems odd given the shit they produce for us to eat...No wonder this country is rife with obesity and diabetes...I used to love red meat. Now, none of it has any flavor. It's a product of what the cattle eat. The world is going to shit, and we're eating it...

(: Neil Young is my all time favorite musician, so I'm quite familiar with his cantankerous personality and attitude. I own a majority of the music he's released over the years, even the weird stuff from the 1980's that no one bought. Did you know he once got sued by Geffen Records for not making music that sounded like Neil Young? I haven't seen the most recent Farm aid, although it can't be much different than previous 20+ years of concerts.

When’s spring training?

But that last record about Monsanto was unlistenable. I think the album you’re thinking of is the electronic album Trans.

His most recent releases, The Visitors, Peace Trail & Monsanto Years have all been issue based LP's. Trans, Everybody's Rockin', Landing On Water, Old Ways and This Note's For You are all some of Neil's stranger releases and all form 80's.
