OH BOY, was my initial thought when I heard we signed Gardner AGAIN!!! Tequila said, "Oh Crap."
I do NOT understand this decision...
WE have Judge in RF, Cash's Guy in CF and Stanton in LF; with Frazier and Ellsbury as Back-ups along with a Host of Prospects.
Gardner is YOUR typical Re-Tread = Production Down; BA. Down; SB Down; etc. etc. etc.
If they resign CC, I can guarantee you all, that the Yankees will do NO BETTER than they did in 2018.
Shocked, but no Surprise in regards to this move = WE are the Yankees = Swing Away, DO NOT think Out-Of-The-Box; WE have always done it this way thinking (old thinkers); Wearing Horse Blinders as other teams attempt New Accomplishments to adapt to the rapid changes in Baseball; Swing Away even MORE; Retreads...etc. etc. etc.
Now if they sign Harper (as most of the Posters here want), than what? Make Gardner the Ball Boy?
I am already starting to look at the odds for WS in 2019. IF these are the Stupid Type of moves the Yankees are going to make this off-season = Not One $ nor One Cent of my $$$ will be on the Yankees to win it all in 2019 = Because they will not with stupid moves like this.
Shit, Why give Walker a 5-year extension?
Not a good day for Tequila/Do Me nor for the Yankees.

There is none so blind As he who cannot see...
It’s quite unlikely the Yankees would replace Gardner as a back up outfielder for the same money...The fact that you even mention Ellsbury is nuts. The fact that you feel the best usage of an asset like Frazier would be to back up Stanton is nuts. The fact that you think Stanton would hold up playing every day in LF is nuts.
Other than that, I agree with you 100%... (:

He is a defensive replacement who will bat when some of the stars get hurt.
