Inger, the only New Castle PA I know is out by Pittsburgh. Yeah, that’s the problem. No post office. The course is south of Atglen, just a bit off Rt. 41...

Looks like Vijay done now Mich, do you play from the tips?... No way. I dont like to get much above 6500 yards (even though one of the best rounds I ever played was at Bethpage Black from about 6700+). I have a few friends who are part of my usual group/golf trip crew who are not very big hitters and prefer to play from 6000-6200 yards (they dont like having to pound a long iron or hybrid into every par 4 green).

I usually stayed in about that zone, too. Though I was a longish hitter when I hit the ball solid, I also had my share of mishits. Then, like you... I had some short hitters I played with, too. It was a lot of fun to be the only one in the group that could go for the green on the mid-length par fives...and occasionally on some that were 550 or even 575 or so out here in Colorado...

I generally will take out my 3 wood off the tee on par 4s under 350 yards or par 5s under 450 (depending on circumstances).

I generally will take out my 3 wood off the tee on par 4s under 350 yards or par 5s under 450 (depending on circumstances). For some reason, up until about the last couple seasons I played, I never felt I gained enough accuracy with mine to my 3 wood to make up for the list distance. I was only hitting the 3W maybe 225-240. Then I found myself dialing it up to 250-275... but still not finding tons more accuracy...but a little better... I over use my driver, and when I don’t want to use it I tend to dial back to my 3-hybrid or 4- hybrid. Then I’m gaining accuracy and getting 230/215 or so respectively... Although I wonder how much I’ve distance I’ve lost... I have a feeling I’m going to find my way to a driving range when it warms up...and maybe a practice green or two...Then... who knows?...

Been in a serious slump in my golf league...need some help turning it around. Maybe DoMe will give me some of his magic picks.
Im still running in the top 3rd overall thanks to my early hot start but this next segment (2nd of 3) is big...has 3 majors (well really two majors plus the Players which counts more). I always look forward to The Players even though it gets a bad wrap from some folks, always a very strong field.

Yeah, coming into a really nice time on the golf calendar, especially with the changes involving TPC and the PGA championship. You can make up a lot of ground here, Joe. Thanks for keeping us updated on how you are doing.
Getting close to the time when the only sports pool I generally get involved with -- NCAA basketball -- starts up. The only thing I have learned over the years is that whatever your hunch is on Michigan State, do the opposite.

The tourney is so unpredictable now...I feel like even moreso than its ever been (maybe thats just false perception). Bad year for my Orange, I dont expect them to do much but then again Jimmy B some how always manages to save some magic for the Big Dance.

Yes, the Players was a great tournament. Turned back the clock for Jim Furyk. I can't imagine he will ever get that close to winning again until he is playing on the Champions Tour.
Rory has been awfully good for about six tournaments in a row. He has to be a factor in Augusta. But there are so many guys with a realistic chance to win. John Rahm seems close to putting it together. Tommy Fleetwood is going to win a PGA event sometime soon. Justin Rose and Dustin Johnson are always lurking.
Is Jordan Spieth still on the tour? You wouldn't think so if you only watched on the weekends.
