Good stuff on DeChambeau, Dome. You have definitely raised his profile with me. An interesting cat. With an interesting hat.

Xander is an awesome young player. Hes going to find himself in the winners circle at a Major before long.
Had Xander in my Draftkings league lineup this week...propelled me to 22nd out of 144 players. Mad at myself for tinkering and pulling Woodland out (originally had him in). Bubba was a let down...I think he might be done.

Had another solid week in my DraftKings league...came in 5th out 144 players. Leishman another strong showing for me 2nd week in a row. Though, I swapped out Keith Mitchell for Ryan Armour at the last minute and could have ended up in 2nd place if I left my original lineup...ugh! I'll chalk it up to the butterfly effect and assume everything would have been different if I left him in.
Listening to Kuch mic'd up is hilarious because he doesnt curse and the words he subs in are so funny.

I remember working near a guy that was a contractor that used the word "mother-sucker" all day...I figured, If you're going to say THAT, you might just as well use the other...

Keep us up to date on your progress, it keeps me focused on something other than the same 8-10 names. I agree Kuchar was hilarious with his "Gosh darn it, Matty." Gomer Pyle language. I have often wondered why the PGA players don't object to have the mics picking up their utterances. Or is it, as I suspect, heavily edited and monitored? Even the quintessential gentleman golfer Bobby Jones could let loose with some welt-raising expletives, although he was careful about where he did it.

I think there are too many good young players for Tiger to win multiple tournaments but I never count him out because he is Tiger. There was a discussion about whether Tiger could surpass Sam Snead's all time wins record this season (Snead 82 vs. Tiger 80) so hed need 3 wins for that to happen. Maybe eventually but I dont think all this year. Id much rather Tiger won a single major than a few regular tournaments.

What a swing. This new fantasy league is really forcing me to get familiar with a lot of the guys off the beaten path. Really keeping the season interesting so far.

My buddies and I were considering heading out to Palm Springs this year where they are playing this week's event; the Desert Classic. We were going to play at PGA West and La Quinta but decided to opt against it. Last year we went to Whistling Straits up in Wisconsin and that trip was incredible. Played 5 rounds in 4 days...some of the best courses in the country. Yesterday we landed on the Vegas/Mesquite/St. George Utah area during Labor Day week. We know there will be some residual heat from the end of summer but we did Scottsdale the same week in 2014 and survived. The two courses I am most excited for are Wolf Creek in Mesquite and Sand Hollow over the border in Utah. This is going to be our 8th annual trip. Another four or five majors to tie or pass Jack seems beyond his range at this point, but who knows? If he manages to take even one more major at this point, it would be breath-taking to watch and a great moment in sports. I would bet on him doing it. Like you, I would rather see that than see him win a few more at Torrey Pines or Bay Hill or The Memorial, courses he has owned. I don't think it's a coincidence that two of his best courses have been Jack's and Arnie's.

Since Sam Snead's name has come up (and I am glad there are a few of you on here who love golf history as well as baseball history) -- what an incredible golfer he was.
The oldest to ever win a PGA event (Greater Greensboro Open in 1965), just shy of his 53rd birthday.
The oldest to ever make the cut at the US Open, age 61.
At age 67, became the first player to shoot below his age at a PGA event, a 66 at the Quad Cities Open.
Finished third, three strokes behind Lee Trevino, at the PGA Championship at age 68.
He is also the only man to ever win an official LPGA event! At the age of 49. Don't ask me how that happened. There was a lot of Bobby Riggs hustler in that guy.

There have been ten golfers older than Tiger is now who have won a major.
The oldest ever is Julius Boros, who won a PGA Championship at age 48. The oldest to win the Open is still, amazingly, Old Tom Morris (didn't he invent golf?) at age 46. The oldest to win the Masters, is, of course, the Golden Bear at age 46, maybe my favorite golf moment of all-time. The oldest to win the US Open was Hale Irwin, at age 45.
Others older than Tiger to have won a major are Jerry Barber, Lee Trevino, Roberto deVicenzo, Harry Vardon, Raymond Floyd and Ted Ray. And most of them weren't much older than Tiger, so it's going to be tough.
Hard to believe that Tiger's last major win was at age 32. Most other great golfers had one at least a little past that age. In addition to the above, Gary Player won his last major at 42, Snead at 41, Ben Hogan at 40, Walter Hagen at 36, Arnold Palmer at 34, and Tom Watson and Byron Nelson at 33.

We're discussing old golfers, and then a few hours later Phil Mickelson ties his best career round ever with a 60 at LaQuinta, and his best-to-par round in his 27 year pro career. At age 48. Hope you had him in your Draft Kings pool, Michcusejoe.
