I guess if the Yanks pass on Machado, the infield will be Andujar at third who is terrible, Tulo st short who hasn’t played in a year and a half, Torres who wasn’t very good at second defensively and Voit not known to be a good defender. With a weak defensive infield, a ground ball pitcher would not be ideal. I think Torres will improve and Didi will be back at some point hopefully, but still DRob missed a lot of bats so might be considered the better of the two given who is playing behind him, but yeah, happy to have one of them back at least.

The key is getting weak ground ball contact, which when at his best Britton has always done. He also only regressed from a 10K/9 pitcher last year, so he may regain that portion of his skill set. Meanwhile, I’m not recommending an infield of pot-bellied Sunday Beer Church League players... Great move by the Yankees... Now, we could use another bullpen arm...One more from the outside, and then we have Tarpley, Loaisigi, German...and others to work with...

If we keep Gray then Loaisiga could be a decent option to replace DRob I suppose. Yeah, Tarpley also, but I think they will probably get another guy especially if they pass on Machado. Meanwhile, the infield defense will be an adventure with pitchers asked to get extra outs.

Aren't you gonna plug your boy inger??? Nah. I was plugging him because he was reportedly on the trade market earlier. I read yesterday that the Rangers have failed to acquire starting pitching so are now looking to add more relief to compensate...Thanks for noticing though. That’s the most support for the idea I’ve gotten from this room all off season... (:

Wish WE had resign Robertson TOO!!! But beggars cannot be choosey...Britton will help; if he regains his Old Form he will be worth ever penny.

Mysteries of the World of Dome, desiring a 33 year old RETREAD for the mound while celebrating the return of a 31 year old RETREAD that will block one of his 18 year old PROSPECTS...Wonder if he would feel the same way when it's time for one of his famous three-ways???

Nice deal for both sides. Cessa is out of options so he’s a good candidate to fill one of the other bullpen spots.

I hope we get a little something for him and move on. He’s a AAAA guy...
