I think Cessa should hope for a trade to the National League where he would be a better fit. A team like the Reds or Padres should get on the horn with Cashman and make it happen Of the other way around. Deal him to free up the roster spot. I hope we get a little something for him and move on. He’s a AAAA guy... I've never understood the Yanks' love of Cessa. Maybe he's 4-A. Maybe he's better off in the NL. But, for sure, he's been bad for the Yankees. I get the occasional moments of brilliance have been encouraging. But come on. The guy's been terrible.

I get the occasional moments of brilliance have been encouraging. But come on. The guy's been terrible. Terrible is probably a bit harsh considering that the role he’s been filling has been similar to that of the role “fulfilled” by Sidney Ponson and Sergio Mitre a few seasons back. He’s compiled a 96 ERA plus and has, as you mentioned..,some moments of brilliance that have tantalized but never satisfied. For me, it’s just that he’s had his chance to over-achieve in NY. It’s time for him to move on to better opportunities to see if he can perform in a lower pressure environment where a 96 OPS pitcher might get a chance to stay in the rotation for a couple of months and get stretched out to build some momentum. In NY, guys like Cessa get a chance to step up into a void when the younger and more talented pitchers are not ready and the team is choosing to protect their confidence and focus on their development. So they serve a purpose. Once their options run out, someone else should get their turn at filling the MLB voids that inevitably occur...

Nice deal for both sides. Cessa is out of options so he’s a good candidate to fill one of the other bullpen spots. I think Cessa should hope for a trade to the National League where he would be a better fit. A team like the Reds or Padres should get on the horn with Cashman and make it happen. That’s possible also, but I don’t see that happening before Cash rounds out the bullpen. We know that in the course of a season a lot of arms go down. He’s not spectacular but he’s adequate and he’s under control. If they settle the rotation and pen and he’s a spare part I could see a deal where he’s flipped for someone similar but with another year of options to a team like you’ve mentioned who might think he plays better in their division.

Wish WE had resign Robertson TOO!!! But beggars cannot be choosey...Britton will help; if he regains his Old Form he will be worth ever penny. Mysteries of the World of Dome, desiring a 33 year old RETREAD for the mound while celebrating the return of a 31 year old RETREAD that will block one of his 18 year old PROSPECTS...Wonder if he would feel the same way when it's time for one of his famous three-ways??? There are Three-Ways & than there is Baseball (One in their right mind cannot COMPARE the two).
One remembers Three-Ways... In Three-Ways if they are 35-years old or younger find. Got to be a FINE Exception otherwise.
Inger: As I stated in a Prior Post = I will always PULL for the Prospects = For they truly are our Future.
However, at my age and health condition(s); I need to see the Yanks not only go the WS, but win another one, before I go over the Rainbow.
So, I am willing to go with some Retreads and SACRIFICE my Prospect Values (Purely Selfish).
At this point in this Off-Season, I am Truly worried/concerned about OUR chances of EVEN going to the WS in 2019. But, it is still early (so to speak).
See my Part One Recommendations/Post in the Off-Season Thread as to what I would have done for 2019.

I like prospects to, if we actually have any. We need some more relievers given that we lost Robertson and Green.

We still have Green, so don’t be blue... That’s all right. Earlier today I washed my hair and shaved. Then I brushed my teeth and and got ready to shave...realizing of course that I had just finished shaving a few minutes earlier...Age is a bi-atch...

Heard Yanks just signed Ottavino Said to $25M for 3 years. Hope last season was for real...His teeth are pretty long for an emerging star...

Just to make this clear: It's now Zack not Zach.
