DO ME = LOVES FRENCH FOOD and SNAILS with a Great Salad plus a good wine followed by steamed Mussels & French Bread = PRICELESS. All I saw there that appealed to me is bread...I fear there might be snails in the salad... snails in the salad....yum.... really, sautéed in garlic and butter, and served with a crusty bread and cheese wedges, it is a wonderful appetizer to the leisurely meals described by Dome....but you go ahead and enjoy your peanut butter and jelly sanny...

I definitely have an extremely selective palate. I wish that were not true, but it is what it is. Many foods repulse me so badly as to gag me.
Sometimes it’s the taste, other times it’s the texture. For instance, I like the taste of garlic or onion, but the texture will not let me bite into them, raw or cooked. I love good spaghetti sauce with a nice basil-garlic flavoring, but plain tomato sauce is just nasty. Don’t even suggest I eat a tomato...
Coconut repulses me to no end because of the texture and the way it leaves residue in my mouth...
Tonight we had a quick cheeseburger. I ate some sweet gherkin pickles with it. I don’t like any other pickles. Ruth had potato salad. If it’s pretty dry with a good amount of egg in it, I’ll eat that, but this was wet with little egg. Nope. None for me thanks. Mayonnaise is not tolerated on sandwiches, but a small amount in tuna fish, or in egg or potato salad is tolerable...
The only pourable condiment I’ll eat is certain kinds of BBQ sauce...No catsup or mustard. Believe it or not, I will try some new foods from time to time, but they have to be in my general chain.
Meats Potatoes Fish (white, with light flavor, plus salmon and tuna ) Shellfish (calamari is okay, too) Pasta Some veggies, if well cooked Cakes and most sweets...

Had to share the best meal I ever had at Momofuku Ko last Tuesday in NYC.
Most of the main entrees sound great. What is sea urchin like, though? You know me, Mr. Picky Eater. I’d have had to pick through and can see myself winding the foie grass on my fork and sticking it under my pant leg to get rid of it. Never had caviar either, and can imagine that being something I wouldn’t have scrapped in my napkin and dumped into a nearby plant...What to do with the chickpeas? Was it the kind of place where I could have gotten away with flicking them at the diners at other tables with my fork? Maybe starting one of those Three Stooges food fight scenes? “Why, you”... “Woo-woo-woo”?...

Sorry. That little son of a bitch would have been ejected from the plate before the waiter was gone from the table..,

Kay, there's at least two of us on this site who love sea urchin. Whenever I eat sushi, I order Uni (sea urchin) and quail egg for dessert.
