Ha, ha. Inger, I always called it turkey neck, but yeah, I’m starting to resemble that remark, but don’t own a Dickey or turtleneck.

She wore a lot of chokers and dickeys in her hey day to hide her turkey neck. Now she doesn’t bother because she has turkey body... (:

I was just thinking how quickly sports can change. This time last year I wouldn’t have known Ottavino from... well ... from Adam...
See what I did there? Damn, I kill myself sometimes... 😂

Sudden thought: Ottavino, who is 6’5” tall will be joining the only bullpen in the world where his nickname may wind up being “Shorty” or “Tiny”...

Chapman Britton Betances Ottavino Green Holder Pretty nasty. Scary pen! I dont love Gray but am torn on if we can even get rid of him considering CC's health. I guess they have some youngster who could try to slide in. If the price is right. We could always give Sidney Ponson a jingle...Or call for the Meat Tray...We have a full but scary deck of starters at this point, but on the bright side that's the only way a young starter is going to get a chance with the Yankees at this time. I don't see anyone winning a job in ST unless one of our fragile starters goes down...So for the time being all those guys are in AAA and AA are strictly for decorative purposes unless we develop and trade them...

WE LOVE THIS SIGNING--Was one of recommendations I listed in Part One, of What I would do if I was Cash...LOOKING BETTER. However I do not think Cash is done yet.

Cashman was telling me just the other day that he lives to please you, so he was going have to get some of the work you’ve been sending him completed before you sent Tequila to crap on his car...

Great read on how Ottavino worked to fix his own throwing mechanics. blogs.fangraphs.com/adam-ottavino-rebuilt-himself-in-a-vacant-manhattan-storefront/Moreover, Ottavino’s previous throwing partner, Steven Matz, had left the city and moved Nashville, Tenn., after becoming engaged. Finding a throwing partner and facility in Manhattan, the most prized real estate in the country, wasn’t easy. He knew Matt Harvey was one of a few major-league pitchers living in the city in the offseason, so he asked Harvey if he was interested in finding a place to throw, but Harvey declined. “At that point, I was kind of screwed,” Ottavino said. “I didn’t know what to do.” Ottavino, a Brooklyn native, required a productive offseason. He was left off the Rockies’ Wild Card roster weeks earlier after an awful 2017 season when he walked nearly seven batters per nine innings, leading to a 16% walk rate. He was in the final year of his contract. He had spent some time at Driveline Baseball after the season ended. He thought he had now had some solutions. He had bought tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment with which to try a

So bottom line, same BP as we finished last season with, except Adam replaces DRob. We hold the line on a lockdown pen. I see zfangraphs says we have the number 3 SP rotation on paper even without a swing man. Not bad.

Seems like we could easily choose between Loiasiga and German to be the swing man...even still consider Cessa a candidate if the other two make you nervous...

Cessa makes me nervous. I like Loaisiga a lot and German a little. We will need one of them to start at some point, maybe both of them given the injury risk this SP staff has, but we have to feel comfortable with the starting five we have going into spring training at least, right?

It would be nice to see Acevedo would stay healthy and become an option.

I’d actually like to see how he looked out of the pen but there’s not really a spot for him other than as the MeatTray guy.
