Maybe so, but that was a double dribble... Yet another basketball rule I never quite understood...And “charging”. If you don’t want them to charge, don’t give them a credit card to start with... I think basketball players that flop themselves to the ground at the slightest bit of contact should be charged with a blocking foul. Punters and place kickers, too. Especially if they’re playing basketball...

Like most people, I thought of Gio Gonzalez as a spent force. And maybe he is. But after the Brewers got him from Washington late last year, he was 3-0 in five starts with a WHIP of 0.947 and an ERA+ of 194. I will happily take that version of GG. I don't expect it, but the Yanks need live arms. If he can even give them five starts with middling results, it will be worth it.

So why not just use an opener for Gio and avoid having to pay him 300k per start?

So why not just use an opener for Gio and avoid having to pay him 300k per start? Are we going to have to start giving pitchers credit for a “follow” if they enter after an opener? A semi-complete game if they finish the game? A quality follow? A save of the (# here) inning? This stuff is so nutty...
