Welp, Cuse stinks this year That was a three point frenzy last night, especially in the first half. Tough day for the ACC as the Cuse and Louisville bow out.

www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaabk/tall-fall-leads-ninth-seeded-ucf-to-first-ncaa-win-over-vcu/ar-BBV7spe?li=BBxU6kX Fall took names & numbers in this game. COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Tacko Fall was huge factor in bringing UCF its first-ever NCAA Tournament victory. Now, the Knights will see how college basketball's tallest player at 7-foot-6 can perform against overall top seed Duke.
Fall had 13 points, 18 rebounds and five blocks as ninth-seeded UCF defeated No. 8 seed VCU 73-58 on Friday night to set up a match with the Blue Devils on Sunday for a spot in the Sweet 16. READ MORE...
Can Fall & his team BEAT Duke? I hope so for I have $$$ that Duke doesn't win it all this year. I might put $$$ $$$ on UCF for Sunday's game.

WOW!!! What a game between UCF & Duke!!! UCF should have won. We won some nice $$$ with the points we had on UCF. Yes, Tequila TREATS are coming your way.
I have increased my bet that DUKE does NOT win it all.
AND: Might place some bets on Houston, Oregon, Virginia Tech, Texas Tech...

Amazing that UCF would have won if a player had not dropped the ball on dunk. Among many other things.

Even with all that star power, Duke is definitely beatable. Although I do have them taking it all in my main pool.
I was reading that this is the first year since 2009 that each of the top three seeds have made it to the Sweet 16. Very different from last year's bracket-busting early rounds.
Apropos of nothing, the 1979 final between Michigan State and Indiana State remains the most-watched championship ever. Magic and Larry.
I remember how they used the Kenny Loggins song "This Is It" for the break music.

The ACC has 5 of the top 16 teams. ACC is usually the strongest conference for as long as I can remember. Used to be neck and neck with the Big East before a bunch of the big programs left. The Big Ten is pretty good these days too if Im not mistaken.

Outside of Kentucky, and Florida once in a while (few years of Bruce Pearl's Tennessee...which maybe is why Auburn is good now), the SEC usually isnt too strong in basketball. Definitely an interesting year for them and have to wonder if the tide for the conference is turning. I miss the old Big East.

Florida is not what it used to be in basketball.
As a Seminole fan I was encourage that they are getting more praise these days. Gonzaga will be scary.

I remember Arkansas's 40 minutes of Hell but that's going back about 25 years. I think a lot of fans miss the old Big East. All these new superconferences, built with football in mind, have hurt basketball.

There are still a lot of small schools in basketball that reach high levels unlike football.
What is impressive this year is how few upsets there have been.

I remember Arkansas's 40 minutes of Hell but that's going back about 25 years. I think a lot of fans miss the old Big East. All these new superconferences, built with football in mind, have hurt basketball. I think anyone from the East misses the original Big East, which was a great basketball conference until football issues severely undermined its great rivalries. Great players, great coaching personalities -- John Thompson, Rollie Massimino, Lou Carnesecca, Jim Boeheim, Jim Calhoun, P.J. Carlissimo, Dave Gavitt, Jim O'Brien -- that was intense and personal and hardnosed basketball. Anytime a conference expands too much, both in number of teams and in geographic distance, the emotions get watered down Jeez, in 1985, three of the Final Four were from the Big East. And just going from memory because I am too lazy to look it up, it seems to me that four of the Elite Eight that year were also from the Big East and that there was a chance for an all Big East Final Four -- I am thinking Providence or maybe BC? I am sure they make more money now, but they did cut the heart out of the conference. I couldn't tell you who is even in it without looking it up, and I am sure the structure changes every few years to chase dollars from distant schools like Creighton. Of course, in Philly, Villanova joining the Big East essentially destroyed the greatest single city college basketball rivalry ever, the Big Five -- Villanova, Penn, LaSalle, St. Joseph's and Temple. Between the mid-50s and the early 70s, each of those schools had at least one Final Four appearance. Legendary coaches like Chuck Daly and Jack Ramsay and John Chaney and Rollie Massimino and Paul Westhead and Jack McCloskey and Harry Litwack and Jack Kraft -- many more. Once Nova left for the Big East, they turned their backs on the Big Five until Jay Wright made an effort to revive things. But it is totally lopsided now since the other four can't compete with Villanova for recruits.

I am without any doubt and/or debate just plain 'Bat Crazy' = Put $$$ on Virginia Tech, Texas Tech, Houston for one of these to Win it all.
Plus I have $$$ that Duke doesn't win it all.
Makes my weeks/weekends very interesting.
