Phew, I didn't think Altuve could hit it that far. He's a piece of work. How does a 5'4" guy hit the ball 440 feet? Piss ants can carry crumbs four times the size of their bodies, so there’s that explanation...

How does a 5'4" guy hit the ball 440 feet? Hall of Famer. I love watching that guy play. I don't. Stupid Altuve.

You're right on the Toy Cannon, Inger. He was six inches taller than Altuve. If memory serves, Mick was also 5'10". Of course he outweighed Jimmy Wynn by probably 50 pounds. All of it muscle.

I recall my first four or five Mantle baseball cards all saying he was 6’ 0” and weighed 200 pounds. I was disappointed when I got my card in about ‘67 or ‘68 when the back of the card read 5’ 11” and 195. It was very confusing to me then how a human being might shrink or to have a long known fact simply obliterated before my eyes...Most of my earliest cards were the ones snipped off the back of cereal boxes. A source like that HAS to be right, right? I would imagine Mantle might have decided to have one of those “best shape of his life” seasons that year and was pushing to have his weight reported lighter on his card. Looks like a barrel full of snakes. Who was it that described Mantle’s back that way?...

He just looked a lot bigger.
