How sad. We did “okayish” vs. Verlander and Cole. Had a chance to beat both of them. Instead? Can we salvage one game tomorrow? I guess we’re waiting for the Red Sox to wake up so we can try to keep up with them?...
Regardless of the needling of Noetsi earlier, the Rays won 90 last year with a young team. They do need to be dealt with...

The poor and sloppy play has to be a concern. They need to sure up the defense and leaky bullpen.

Obviously, the team is not whole. Health is the most important aspect a team can have. Sometimes, when a couple of players get injured, replacements are found that can fill the voids and even make the team stronger.
Right now, this doesn’t appear to be the direction this team is headed. With no Didi and Torres taking his place, the infield has been completely uprooted. Left field is in disarray. The starting pitching isn’t getting any innings to speak of, and that extra weight is bearing on the also short-handed bullpen all ready.
Just as if we had made massive changes, the team needs a bit of time to gel. Gel it must. If not, we may settle into a distant third place before the season is over. This is ugly and poor baseball. I know it’s only a few games, but those few are not portending anything better. We can beat the Orioles. Probably the Blue Jays...The rest? I don’t quite know that yet...
