He's walked a decent amount of times. That's the only positive thing I can say about Bird. Yeah, bad as he's been, he does take walks and grinds out a lot of at bats. But he doesn't seem like he's just hitting into bad luck, he just looks lame. And is he the slowest Yankee runner since Jorge Posada? Not that we get to see him on the basepaths very often, so it's a small sample size. He is really really slow that's for sure. Sanchez is faster than him and that's just sad.

I think Voit’s extreme jiggle slows him even more than Bird...

Bird would get all depressed about halfway through and give up.

The bases are only 90 feet apart, that’s thirty yards. Why are we running so far? I haven’t hit a home run in a long time. No wonder. I exhausted from all this running. Luke, let’s just go back together, all right”?... Voit: <farts> keeps running...

I was surprised he pitched at all, I guess his turn in the roation is getting skipped. They did say that on yesterday’s broadcast. His turn is being skipped so he was available from the pen. Thanks. When the Yanks play the White Sox, the YES broadcast is blacked out, so I miss all these nice to know updates.

Renteria did us a favor taking out Nova. Sometimes the pitch count bogeyman works against you, sometimes it works for you. He also did us a favor replacing their regular 2B with Yolmer Sanchez. Yolmer's error on a double play ball was one of the biggest plays of the game.

Bird on a pace for 14 RBIs. In his first afternoon as a Yankee this year, our third-string catcher Higgy has equaled Bird's RBI output. I'd give Higgy another start, tomorrow. He had several good AB's today and worked well with CC.

Given that Bird seems like he’s always on codeine I think Luke takes him. It appears the concern is is that Bird is the brick-foot of the team. It is indeed sad to know that we have another 1B and 3 catchers on the roster that all outrun him...Now, one last attempt to save face for Bird...I think that he can outrun CC, given the knee brace and thirteen years of age difference. If he can’t do that, then I may have to start invoking Molinas. Don’t make me drag the Molinas into this... (:

(: Yeah, there were a couple ground balls to 1B yesterday that Bird knew he had to take to the bag himself, because he knew damn well CC wasn't getting there.
