Merrill Kelly? Really? A thirty year old rookie that spent the last three years in the KBO is owning us today...
As Tanaka feeds his hungry gopher...

Yanks leave the bases loaded. It's almost as if the regulars were back.

I know that now and then Gardner barrels one up, but he must be among the league leaders in weak infield grounders.

I know that now and then Gardner barrels one up, but he must be among the league leaders in weak infield grounders. He’s a completely different hitter from his MiLB days. I expected him to become a constant threat to bunt for a hit, and to spray the ball around. Then he found the weight room. I wish he hadn’t to be honest. With his legs I expected he would hit .280-.300, draw walks and of course to steal bases. He’s been a big asset to the team, but not the great leadoff hitter I was originally expecting. Remember the “Flyswatter”? Lol...

Gleyber's double sends Kelly to the showers. Too bad he just bent instead of breaking in the fifth...
