Tauchman and Romine back to back. Where innings go to die.

Odrasamer Despaigne is going to show you pretty much what you might expect from a pitcher with a 13-25 career mark accentuated by a career ERA of 5.00.
He’s a Cuban who has been in the majors since 2014, appearing more often as a middle reliever than as a starter. He has four pitches, and although his separation between his change up and his fast ball is a whopping 17 MPH, even that pitch is not all that consistently effective. None of the four is at all exceptional and though he throws a lot of strikes, he doesn’t necessarily place them where they should be. Fastball about 91 might touch 92, that change up 74-75...
There is little reason to believe that he’ll be even as effective as Lopez was yesterday. If Paxton is well today and the team plays defense, this should be an easy Yankee victory.
You will be perhaps entertained by the typical herky-jerky-come-at-you-from-all-angles pitching style of the typical Cuban pitcher. We’ve seen that in NY before, but it’s been a while...

We need a solid start from Paxton today.

I should have added that Despaigne is 32 years old, or perhaps 29, or maybe 37, since he IS Cuban... (:
And he might actually be his brother, cousin or uncle...

How cold is Urshela? In his last 12 games, he’s hit .179. In the part 8 games he’s made 4 errors and could have been charged with another. Is that a big deal? The sample is too small to be overly concerned...But with the team struggling of late, it could be enough of a reason for the team to make changes...

They almost deserve to lose with this lineup Boone is putting out there.

Gardner comes through with a bases loaded 2 run RBI! Looked like Voit might have been out if they didn't cut it off. I'll take it!

They almost deserve to lose with this lineup Boone is putting out there. ...looks like a vintage CBS-era Yankee lineup, without even a Horace Clark...…...still, as critical as I was last season of Boone not putting his teams in the best position to win, he has been incredibly lucky this season with his handling of the team....the good thing is Didi and Sanchez will be available if we need late inning histrionics....hope we don't need them...

It helped that we were facing a rather poor pitcher...We didn’t exactly pound him, but we made him work extremely hard the second time through the order...

He’s pretty certain to be out of the regular starting lineup anyway as soon as Stanton and Encarnacion enter the lineup. D.J. should definitely start at 3rd before Urshela.

With the way the Yankees like giving players days off, there will still be playing time for Urshela & Gardner.
