Hopefully Hicks will start hitting enough to deserve that 3rd spot in the lineup.

Hopefully Hicks will start hitting enough to deserve that 3rd spot in the lineup. I thought exactly the same.

To me Hicks seems to be getting worse not better.
Its good we have Edwin Encarnacion not Roger Encarnacion...(Boone introduced him by both names as if anyone in the baseball world needed to know his first name. Or cared.).
Weird to have Maybin rather than Frazier. I would have stuck with Frazier to Stanton gets back.

Weird to have Maybin rather than Frazier. I would have stuck with Frazier to Stanton gets back. Maybin makes a better bench player since he can play all three OF spots, plus, unlike Frazier, he does not have minor league options. The Yankees would have to DFA him to get him off the 25 man roster.

I have never understood the 25 or 40 roster rules. As a battle tech player DFA means Death From Above so its use always confuses me here

Ladies and gentleman, whooooooos Yonny?
This is the same pitcher we saw yesterday in DeSpaigne, except this one has very good command of all four pitches and doesn’t need the deceptive wind up histrionics to survive the second time through the order. Easy 91-92 on the FB. This change up and curve/slider combo won’t likely drop down below 75 like the ones yesterday, but they will illicit swings for weak contact with superior location.
When Chirinos is on, he can throttle the best lineups in baseball with his command and smart pitch selection. Get ready for a battle with him tonight. Besides, Chirinos don’t get soggy in milk...

In two games against TB this year, Tanaka has allowed only one run in 13 innings. Although Chirinos has pitched pretty well against the Yanks too.
Any thoughts on Sterling's HR call for Encarnacion? Maybe just fall back on the parrot theme? The parrot walks again? Polly wants a cracker jacker? An Explo-zee-on for Encarnacion?
I know there's better than that. Still time to get your entries in to John before the game.

Hey, Ellsbury not playing again tonight? His consecutive game streak is now up to 233.
