Just asking, since I couldn’t see, did the kid look anything like the scouting report? I saw he popped Gardner up on a 3-2 change in the third inning...Also mowed through the Yanks pretty well for three... Just like you said, he fell apart after the third... You gave me far too much credit. I didn’t exactly predict a collapse at that point. What I was more interested in was Acura y of velocity. Command of the curve. Was he able to lock hitters up with the curve for called strike outs? Did he use the change up much? Was it decent, or was he still failing to command it?... I never anticipated this to become this interesting of a little mini-hobby...

The curve looked decent. The two HRs came on 4 seam fastballs. I don't recall seeing too many changes. Just a few.

If it’s sharp he’s real hard to handle. Then, the third time through the order he needs that change, and it’s just not there...

I gave up on the Rays/A's game when the Rays went up 4-1 in the top of the ninth. That was a mistake. A key error by Kiermaier and a 3 run HR by Chapman in the bottom of the ninth! A's win 5-4! 4.5 games up on the Rays! Yanks only 1 game back of the Twins for best record in the AL!
: You can't predict baseball, Suzyn!

I also haven’t checked to see if there has been a gross differential in run support on opener days... Katie Sharp to the rescue!:
So we are actually allowing more runs (4.7 per game to 4.28 overall) but just blowing teams out of the water with our hitting when the openers go.

Good old KS. If I didn’t know Chi was in love with her, I might give her a go myself...

Green in his last three openers has pitched six innings, allowing no runs and striking out 12. He may have found his niche. In any event, he is a different guy from the one sent to Scranton in May.

If he’s been repaired (and it appears he has), I’d rather he go back to his former role of shutting down later innings...
