who would you hit second? sanchez normally. Glyber today the archaic thought was to have a leadoff hitter with a high OBP, and a second hitter who could put bat on ball, hit and run, and bunt...I think that would be Urshela in today's lineup....but the modern thought is to put your better hitters early in the lineup...I don't know... |

good grief….Toronto lets the 27th out drop on a pop fly to LF....SS and LF could both have caught it....tying run now on 2nd with 2 out in 9th...
whew....Toronto wins...

darned Miley....he could have been in trouble in the first, but judge hit into a double play....since then he has been at his best... Which is why Judge should not be batting second Judge sees a lot of pitches and has a lifetime .397 OBP, exactly what you want in the #2 slot. |

Which is why Judge should not be batting second Judge sees a lot of pitches and has a lifetime .397 OBP, exactly what you want in the #2 slot. and that would be pertinent if this wasn't his first time batting in two months. |

The old rules not longer apply I know...the new rules say, you have a leadoff hitter who walked on 4 pitches....the pitcher throws the first two pitches as balls to the 2nd hitter...and you let the 2nd place hitter hit a grounder into the shift, and turn the double play….sigh....there was a huge hole on the right side, because LeMahieu was being held on.....but go ahead and hit into the shift.. |
