Wasted opportunity. Richard shouldn't be able to pitch this well against this lineup. We are making bad decisions it seems to me. Terrible base running and situational hitting tonight. Our mechanics were better a month ago. you are a tough grader, noetsi...the Yankees are on a good winning streak....are setting all-time records...and you are ragging on them....

Two terrible at bats by Gardner and Voit with a runner on third and less than two outs. Gardner swung at the first pitch. He usually has more patience than that. A note about Gardner when swinging at the first pitch: He smartly preys off his reputation for patience by sometimes attacking the first pitch. In 310 such career at bats (swinging at the first pitch), Gardner has hit .355/.375/.590 with 24 2bh, 8 3bh, and 11 HR. This time it didn’t work, but the numbers show that it’s been good to break protocol from time to time...

Two terrible at bats by Gardner and Voit with a runner on third and less than two outs. I hate criticizing Gardner, but he hits an enormous amount of weak infield outs. His pct of hard hit balls is around 30% compared to the league average of 34%...

He has hit more out of the park this year than is typical for him. But still, those numbers put him 15 percent worse than the league average.

We may be a better team. I think our mechanics, like saying hit a hit with RISP are worse now. But likely I am wrong
