I thought Holder was in AAA? [img alt=" " src="//storage.proboards.com/6828121/images/ZVUxStWfuuhWOBrKaeKL.gif" class="smile"] Haha, looks like we had the same image in mind. I have to believe that Paxton would be shut down for a couple weeks if not for the shape of the rotation. His knee is probably barking and gutting through the pain, but it’s affecting his mechanics.

Judge handles that corner of Yankee Stadium as well as anyone, past or present. I've thought that many times, Rizz. If anything, he reminds me of a young Roger Maris the way he gets to the ball and rifles it in. I don’t believe people know just how great of a fielder Maris was. In a way, the 61 homers in 1961 overshadowed that he was an all-around ball player.

He was a fast, smart, very hard-nosed baserunner too. I was always a big fan of Roger. He just wasn't a New York kind of guy. Hated the spotlight.

Am I missing the tab, or has B-R now removed player comps from their regular menu? I see a tab for “Batter Comps” but you have to be a member to use that, and you have to name the players you want to compare, which seems to be of only limited usefulness... Inger, I looked at Aaron Boone's page and found columns for comparable batters (Scott Brosius ironically was first) and comparable by age. Now did you remember to pay your phone bill last month? I have Russ send me reminders when my bills are due. Works like a charm. I never have to pay them... (: Thanks. When I get a chance, I’ll go search again. Odd, I compared Gio’s potential value to Scotty’s this spring when the Yanks picked him up...

Yea, he doesn't look right at all. The Big Maple has a crack in his trunk. Of course we all do, but he also may not have the greatest roots anchoring him down...And it’s affecting his limbs, which LEAVES the ball out over the plate... (It’s amazing that I did that)...

My guess is he thinks it's a night game. Or that the game is in England. Or perhaps Botswana...

Phew, Paxton looking like Holder today. Down 5-0 already. He'll be lucky to go five. I think Cashman was expecting more when he traded for Paxton, he's been more like an end of the rotation starter.

BTW: I will admit that there are some recent incidents where I have become acutely aware that my memory is not what it once was. Luckily, I can’t recall them. But I’m sure it’s happening. I told my brother that on the phone the other day, and he got very quiet. It was after I hung up that I recalled the family brain cancer run and how that was one of the first symptoms my older brother had noticed. That would be out of my control, of course. Outside circle of influence means... fahgettaboutit... Forget what?...
