Boone just accepts some games will be lost. Given that he has no truly ace pitcher right now I am not sure he has any choice

Boston had an excellent scouting report against Tarpley - eliminate any inside pitch to righties, look away. Hitting is decidedly less difficult when you only have to cover half the plate.
