That does not seem very likely to occur. I am still hoping we get a decent reliever. I think most of our starters are hurt or have worn out their arms. Pretty soon kaybli will be around to move this to the trade thread.  |

Its not appropriate to talk about job automation at all except with automation engineers and they are a dark lot. Probably all Red Sox fans  |

Given that teams apparently won't trade with us at all or want impossible demands they don't demand from other teams, we probably won't make any major moves. What we have is what we will have depending on what happens to injured players. I think it will be very difficult to reach the WS with this group of starters even if they are not as bad as they have been recently.

I love what Cashman has done in building the Yankees, and building the depth of their organization....my criticism is that he seems to have let opportunities slip by the past 2-3 years to pick up some FA pitchers for only their salaries....of course there are spending limits, and a bad contract like Ellsbury's has probably "cost" the signing of a good pitcher....but the Yankees have such a seemingly almost limitless income stream available to them, that I think they could be more aggressive with the spending...that's just a gripe from my living room....

Revenue is not the issue. The luxury tax limits are. The Steinbrenner's want to be below that. And you do lose draft picks for FA which is why its hard to develop talent when you go that route. Regardless there are serious limits regardless of Revenue. The Stanton contract will be on us for a long long time.
