Carlos Beltran - Former Yankee 2014-2016 (Interviewed 11/29/17)
Beltran met with team officials Wednesday at Yankee Stadium.
"It's been a good interview," Beltran said. "At the beginning, it's a little bit overwhelming. It's a lot of information that you have to digest. Most importantly, the part that we're discussing is an opportunity to be a manager and to manage a team that has so much tradition. It really motivates me to do well."
David Cone - Former Yankees Pitcher, Current YES Analyst
Expressed interest in an interview at some dinner recently
"I've talked to Brian a couple times over the last couple of weeks, and I've let him know that I support the Yankees," said Cone, who played for the Yankees from 1995-2000. "I'd do anything I could to help. If requested, I would not turn down an interview."
John Flaherty - Former Yankees Catcher, Current YES Analyst
Same thing
"I wanted to make sure [Cashman] knew I was interested, and whatever happens from there, I am totally fine," said Flaherty, who played three seasons for the Yankees from 2003-05. "I just wanted for my own personal well-being to know that I threw my hat in the ring. I'm at a point in my life where I'm open to doing a lot of things."
Jerry Hairston Jr. - Former Yankee Utility Player On 2009 World Series Team
Hairston is yet another former Yankees player in the running. A source recently told MLB.com that the club has reached out to Hairston regarding the job.
I'll post more confirmed names as I see them not posting any wish lists, rumors, etc. I just included these names, because Mlb.com has sources to back them up.
