Mike Ford has been called, he was raking at AAA.
What do you think the Yankees should do or what can the do? The trade deadline has passed, so you can only trade for minor league players or sign guys that have DFA'd by other teams. This really stinks, it appeared Edwin was starting to get hot and he was always dangerous at the plate.

There is a very realistic chance that the Yankees will go into the post-season without either Voit or Encarnacion. And of course not the late Greg Bird. I guess that makes LeMahieu the first baseman, unless Ford really steps up.
Of course, if Ford is any good, he'll get injured.

I guess he'll be back for the playoffs maybe Sorry, but no way. Even by the typically ridiculously optimistic injury recovery period the Yankees give out, he'd be back by mid-September. By the time he got back into game shape, it would be mid-October. At that point, it's not worth it. |
