It's almost always the manger or hitting coach that's tossed in that situation. To throw out a player is absurd. I thought that was a weird decision by the ump but at the same time Gardner should chill. Yea, we don't want to lose him for multiple games. |

Not good for the ump that they have video evidence of Gardners mouth not moving. It's almost always the manger or hitting coach that's tossed in that situation. To throw out a player is absurd. Just before Gardner got tossed I told Ruthie that his habit of hitting the roof of the dugout with the bat while others are chirping was making him the focus of the umps and was soon going to get him tossed. In all likelihood Gardner initially ticked the umps off, maybe even yesterday... The lack of a warning is the biggest sin on the part of the ump. I would recommend that Gardner stop hitting the dugout roof... |
