The Valera at bat is strange "Valera was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to serve as the 26th man for Monday's doubleheader against the Orioles. He is starting at second base and hitting ninth in the day game, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports." which is apparently true. Paxton having trouble putting away hitters with two strikes. Elevated pitch count and one run scored but kept the ball in the park.

I think it is new this year. Teams can add a 26 man for a double header but it's only for this day, they go back to a 25 man roster for tomorrow's game. |
