We thought we were getting a Ford and we got a Yugo he has had excellent numbers at AAA.....I don't think he has failed his Yankee trial yet....there is more there than he has shown at this level, I believe...maybe he breaks out in ST..... I don't really care much how our minor league teams perform or how well players perform there.
I have no idea how he will do in the future...

Consistently inconsistent. good way to put it....and at this point I wonder how patient the Yankees can be with him for next year....he had a very good spring training I think, which might have been the only way he made the roster this year....once the season started he reverted to Mr. Inconsistent...….. To Cessa's credit, he's been very good the since July 1st. He had a really rough June and certainly didn't have it today, I'm sure Boone was expecting him to pitch the final two innings.

Geo with another sweet play to end the game. That was not an easy play. I believe I counted eleven steps total before the throw. You have to have a cannon to make the play in time.

You won't find a better game summary than this:

The Valera at bat is strange "Valera was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to serve as the 26th man for Monday's doubleheader against the Orioles. He is starting at second base and hitting ninth in the day game, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports." which is apparently true. He was optioned Sunday so it was a fast plane ride back and forth I guess. www.cbssports.com/mlb/players/playerpage/2119616/breyvic-valeraI am not certain how the 26th man works, this is the first time I have seen it used. I think it is new this year. No, it’s been around for seven or eight years. Yeah, it’s been around for 7 or 8 years, but yiu’d Think Game Cast would have made their dots a different color so you could tell them from the other players. This is also a demonstration of why watching games on TV with the sound off is a great strategy for a fan..,

I am pretty skeptical about Ford. That said, the analytics guys have proven me wrong several times and apparently see something they like in his approach at the plate. He does work the count and when someone serves him a mistake he can do damage with it, he just isn’t seeing very many mistakes up here. All things being equal, I’d rather see McBroom get a shot than see Ford again but that requires another roster move in a season of endless roster moves. And when/if Voit returns then this issue is over anyway so my guess is they view this as not important enough to micromanage with a 9 game lead and Ford will play until Voit returns or until they need his roster spot for one of the other guys coming back off the IL.

You don’t mash the accelerator to the floor during the break-in period...

How long does a break in period have to be to generalize from it.

How long does a break in period have to be to generalize from it. I figure that at our ages, ours is over... (:

It’s smart to be skeptical of any prospect the first season or so. It’s also not a sin to send them back down a few times to draw the picture of what’s different in the two environments. I know McBroom has always him it the minors and never embarrassed himself at the plate in MLB. I’ trying to recall how he got pushed off the MLB 40 man. Did we have to release him once, or expose him to waivers for that?...

Now, I feel like I noetsi’d my pants. I could have sworn we had Ryan McBroom up for a brief cup of Joe once, but I’m looking at his career record and I don’t see it...
