There is not enough variance and too small a sample size to make a valid regression model. You’d be fired for saying that in private enterprise... Besides, 5.84 vs. 5.04 seems a rather huge variable to me...And given the number of games and innings played, why... That was lame... Its an an n of 1 inger. I would get fired for suggesting a regression model with one case. I am not sure the regression model would even run and asymptotic properties would be nil as would the CLT critical to regression. Generalizability would also be about nil.

No error was charged to Torres on that hard grounder that could have been a DP, so all three of runs a earned against Lail. the young man has filled in a number of columns tonight.....if he gets the W, he will be thrilled.... Moonlight Lail...

I worked in both sectors although the sample size is too small to make any comprehensive judgement. I don't think there is a lot of difference between the two in regards to statistics. Neither do it very often or well. All the good statistics is done in academics or by academics. Because the private sector is more busy than the public sector I think you have more time to read statistics in the public sector. I will point out again although I study stats all the time my job in both sectors has been SQL.

The shift is killing Ford. Its interesting that it took so long to do the shift. I am not sure if it has come about because some one actually finally did an analysis showing it works or because batters are more uni-dimensional these days in what fields they hit to. I think the latter primarily. And of course that batters are unwilling to bunt which would likely make the shift useless

And we still have a ways to go. The Birds might break this record before the end of this series.
