I like Didi a lot. The trade was an absolute steal. But they can’t pay hi. What his market will likely demand this winter. They’ll let him walk and spend that money elsewhere. Suspect you may be right. I like him a lot too. But, he does have a tendency to swing at anything which, to me, is his biggest flaw. He's done a more than admirable job of replacing Jeter which was a huge task to ask of anyone. There’s some good stuff in Klapisch’s book about what the analytics team saw in him (which I thought was bullshit at the time) and how he adjusted his approach at the plate based on the advice from the coaches and front office analytics team. Made me appreciate him more. |
