They need to consider changing the rules on rosters for individual series. I don’t understand not being available for the NEXT series if you have a minor problem and cannot play, but not necessarily require the IL for THIS series. Either that, or allow an expanded post season roster with a taxi squad that can be shuffled in and out on a daily basis... I think baseball will eventually move in that direction almost out of necessity. Between the enormous increase in injured players and the limitations on pitchers, baseball may have to move toward the hockey "healthy scratch" model under which rosters can easily be changed on a daily basis. If a pitcher throws seven innings on Monday, he is of no use on Tuesday. Why not add a useable arm to the roster for the next couple of days?

Teams get to pick their rosters. I don’t see a problem that needs to be solved.
