When Zack Granite hit his “double”, Choi looked like a matador waving the soft bouncer down the line... Zack Granite sounds more like a football player than baseball. Zack Granite, Private Investigator. Series debut tonight at 9:00 PM...

RIP: The balls that Wade and Frazier hit That was a great looking swing by Frazier. Head very still and easy looking swing. That stance may help him keep his hips from opening too quickly. Coach Wooden used to preach, “Be quick, but don’t hurry.”

Coach Wooden used to preach, “Be quick, but don’t hurry.” That little foot turn is one of the memories I have of the day in 1964 when I saw the young Lou Pinella preening and practicing in front of me. Isn’t it odd how an unknown player standing in front of me 56 years ago still leaves such a vivid visual? I tried that foot turn many times through the years. Even used it in some practice swings just so the opposing team could think “what the hell is he doing”? I never got comfortable with it, but as I later discovered I was very flexible on my turn anyway. Apparently that would be one of the major sources of power I had that also let me blast the golf ball so far when I took that sport up. I really didn’t need the foot turn...

Flexibility definitely helps in golf. The easier you can turn your hips and shoulders, the easier it is to launch a golf ball.

Flexibility definitely helps in golf. The easier you can turn your hips and shoulders, the easier it is to launch a golf ball. . With as many years as it’s been since my last round, I would imagine I’d be devastated if I got back out on the course... I recall playing a few holes one day with a nice old gentleman one day when I hit my lob wedge to the back fringe of an 89 yard par three. I recall that when the ball was just reaching it’s apex he was asking me where it had landed. Then he pulled out a wood to hit his shot. That was a bit sobering as I realized that when they tell us it’s a game we can play for a lifetime, it’s obvious that some adjustments must be made. That’s one good reason they have “executive” and par three courses...

Kenny Rogers. RIP on a train bound for nowhere...
Quite an amazing career as a terrific cross over artist. His Kenny Rogers and the First Edition was entertains me all the way back in the 1960’s, yet it’s hard to believe that he was 81 years old.
He also performed in a few Western Movies, including “The Gambler”. When I first thought about him in a western, I didn’t expect much of a performance, but he was a respectable actor.
Kenny, when I get time later and am freed from this life, I promise to drop in to see what condition your condition is in...
Reuben James Sunshine The Gambler Just Dropped In (to see, etc.) Islands in the Stream w/ Dolly Parton We’ve Got Tonight (He and Seger both made hits of it) The list of his music that I’ve enjoyed “Through The Years” goes on and on...and so will his music endure for many more decades...
