I like The Gambler... only song I heard by him Did you see “The Great Lebowski”? You have to listen to “Just Dropped In (to see what condition my condition was in). Maybe “Tell it All, Brother) would resonate with you. Both from his earlier incarnation when he was more rock than country. Very talented man...

This dude I used to work with would call me The Dude, apparently he was a character in the movie?? I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing... LOL

Let’s not forget that he finished up as a Yankee! The numbers he put up in the then-cavernous Astro Dome were phenomenal! He’d be a forty plus guy in these times...

In ‘67, when Wynn led Houston with 37 HR, a 23- year old Rusty Staib and 39- year old Eddie Matthews finished tied for 2nd on the team with 10. Young Joe Morgan hit 6. That gives you an idea of the kind of pop Jimmy Wynn, a slender 5’ 10”, 160 pounder produced...

Very important player who played the latter portion of his prime in an offense-suppressed era. Just missed the .300 BA level at .297, just made the 3000 hit milestone at 3007, just missed 400 HR at 399.
Kaline had a powerful throwing arm and like Mickey Mantle transferred to 1B late in his career. Though he never hit 30 HR in a single season when he was 27, the season he broke his collarbone and played in any 100 games he hit 29, his career high, which he tied a few seasons later. He was on the way to one of the great single seasons of the 60’s that year. Kaline was similar to players like Eddie Murray and Harold Baines in that he was more about consistency that individual great single seasons...

RIP. Losing all these people before it seems their time is due is really sad, but I suppose if there is such a thing as going when your time is due, then... their time was due. It’s odd though. You have to wonder how many of them were frail, and how many appeared to be perfectly healthy before the virus got them. This illness doesn’t discriminate. Rich, poor. Plain or famous. Not quite as picky about old vs. young as I thought it would be.
There seems to be conflicting information about whether this illness is a “natural” one or if someone tinkered with it to make it more contagious. If they catch anyone and can prove it... words aren’t enough...
