The Padres have reached agreement with the Yankees on a swap that will bring third baseman Chase Headley back to San Diego along with righty Bryan Mitchell, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post (via Twitter). Jabari Blash is going to the Yanks in the deal, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic (via Twitter). It’s far from clear that Blash will have any chance of holding a 40-man spot with New York, so this seems to make clear the move is intended almost entirely to shed Headley’s salary and free up some roster space.
Also:
The Yankees are among the teams with interest in Tigers righty Michael Fulmer, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today (via Twitter). New York also has considered Diamondbacks lefty Patrick Corbin, per the report.

If Baltimore wants to go into a full blown rebuild, Machado could be available....

I agree with that but they might try to platoon him and Wade if Torres not ready (dont forget he got hurt last year and missed all his time in AAA) or if they want to delay his service time clock.

I am expecting Torreyes to be the opening day starting 2B. They will give Torres a bit of time to heal and get going and bring him up later in the spring to take over.
As for 3B...we'll see.

Just saw a tweet from Bryan Hoch who said Cashman has been talking to Todd Frazier's agent.

Their owner will never approve Manny to the Yanks.

Their owner will never approve Manny to the Yanks. Perhaps a three-team trade with Manny passing through the hands of a National League team first to lessen the sting would be in order. Not in love with Manny the person, like the bat, love the glove...We need the glove more than we do the bat...

If you look at his MiLB stats vs. his MLB stats and his age, I'm going to say that he's somewhat of an Aaron H-I-C-K-S redo. The Yankees trying to catch a bit of lightning by changing his approach to hitting...Either way, I think it was good to move Headley to a place where a .260/14/65 season with an occasional overthrow of first base will keep him in the lineup...He still seems to have that much gas in the tank...Thanks for the memories of the one or two hot streaks you gave us Chase, and no thanks for those ice cold runs when I thought you'd never get another hit in your life...Even in a beer softball league...

I see Torres, who by all accounts is a much better middle infielder than 3b,eventually playing 2b this summer A second rookie in the infield seems unlikely to me. Easiest route to take to fill 3rd seems to be Frazier I think Andujar may be included in a package along with Frazier for a starting pitcher.
