Missed the game yesterday. Thanks for the videos and information, guys. Remember “Top prospect” Mike Ford? 😂 Yankee Stadium got him to start turning on the ball more, I do believe. That’s changed his career path... but where oh where will he play?...

The Yankees don’t need Montgomery until next week due to both Friday’s off day, which will allow them to use ace Gerrit Cole twice in the first five games, and also the club’s decision to make Sunday’s game in Washington an all-bullpen affair that will be started by either Jonathan Loaisiga, Chad Green or King.
Tanaka will most likely be activated back from concussion July 31st against the Red Sox from what I heard.

I’m not sure I get why Montgomery would be set aside in the first rotation turn instead of letting King cool his jets until the second turn, but... there must be a reason... I guess they want to keep Montgomery stretched out on the side instead of him having go an inning or two in a bullpen game. |

That’s still odd because they could keep him in the game for 5+ innings and accomplish the same thing... If they pitched Montgomery on the 26th, they'd still need the opener on the 29th before Tanaka comes back. So Montgomery's start is pushed back a few days instead. No biggie. |
