Thank you for posting, Chi. There is something wrong with this line up, though. Where’s the second catcher?...

Baseball at the top level can be so different from when we were kids. Would we have even dreamed of letting skinny little Kyle Higgy DP the catching when we could have put porky Chris Gittens back there? Even pudgy-faced Luke Voit (please do NOT let him know I said that) begins the dish? Hmm. Maybe there are multiple catchers in the lineup, after all...

I got to see a bit of yesterday’s loss. I noticed that the Phil’s color announcer (apparently an ex-catcher) was bemoaning this “new style” of catching where the catcher sets up on one knee. He was saying he didn’t see how the guys can transition to a throwing position on SB attempts in time to be effective.
Anyone here have an opinion on that from what you’ve seen this spring? I’m thinking that a young, flexible man should be able to handle that. For me, it would take two people to pull me back up, or else some rather embarrassing maneuvers resembling a water buffalo stuck in a mud hole with a croc cranking down on one of his legs...

I don't know if its harder to throw someone out but Gary had some troubles the other day with passed balls. But I trust Tanner Swanson after what he was able to do with Mitch Garver last year in Minnesota.

Didn't Jose Molina use the on one knee approach? I'd say he was pretty solid on D..

Cole gives up a run as we fail to throw out the Jays runner at the plate. But Cole gets out of further damage.

A little late to the party as I'm in full screen mode... but the D was pretty Spring Trainingy for the Yankees the first half of the inning. Gotta tighten up!!! I hate that saying... tighten up. I had a trustee and a boss that used to say that shit. Annoys me... that those words would be typed by me...

I was gonna post this the other day, but I forgot. And I'll start it out w/ a disclaimer, not that I really need to. Bryce Harper has received more training in probably the past week than I have in my lifetime or probably ever will. I'm NO expert... just an observation. I was watching a video of him squatting... and his form was HORRIBLE. (okay, I just rewatched the video, it wasn't HORRIBLE.. but it wasn't great for a pro athlete... and I'm NOT saying I can do better, I just expected better). I can see why he missed so many games throughout his career if he's been training like that... Link to video www.youtube.com/watch?v=ln90FxUvTkYAnd at 1:16 he's deadlifting 505 lbs and you can see his lower back curving... NOT GOOD... A couple years ago I was deadlifting 400+ lbs and I made SURE that didn't happen to me.. recorded lots of videos... Guess the difference is I had a job where if I got hurt and missed work, I didn't get paid... </end rant> P.S. I bet Stanton has similar/worse form than Harper... But I only find videos of him doing shit w/ tires or running through sand... which is funny, because that's exactly what Judge is doing in that video I linked... Back to the Cole Show

Cole is a man among boys... Also, I know it's spring, but I never fully appreciated how fast he works on the mound... Hopefully that translates into the regular season... I never noticed during his starts against us

Apparently Roark is a man among boys as well, since the Yanks can't manage a single hit
