The US economy has rebounded from Civil War, multiple recessions and a crushing depression. It will again. This is not a third world country. But, death is final. And, we aren’t close to being clear from this. Some people are numb until it happens to one they love or when they themselves are struggling for breath, then the economy is far from their thoughts. Until then, some think like Stalin: “One death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic.” RIZZ: You hit the Nail on the Head again. Bravo. "Some people are numb & DUMB until it happens to one they love or when they themselves are struggling for breath, then the economy is far from their thoughts."
And if you have been reading some Posts on this Board and like me, so many other Boards = You will have to shake your head in disbelief to see how many Americans are NUMB & DUMB in regards to the C-Virus and you know WHO; etc. etc. etc.
Rizz: Please take good care of yourself.
I will not be posting for a while: --Will be spending my valuable time helping the Poor Families fend of this pandemic and caring for MY OWN.
--In addition, I get very upset to read so many NUMB & DUMB Posts, not only here but also on Other Boards, etc..
I truly believe (without any doubt) that we have TWO VIRUSES in America = The C-Virus & the Stupid Virus. And we could debate which one WILL DO the most damage in the Long-Run???!!!
If I offended anyone--get a life--PEOPLE, our fellow citizens are DYING with only more to come.
No offense taken...

That amazing square shoe that allowed him to turn what was otherwise a disability into an advantage was quite famous at the time... I always admire him for doing that. I remember watching Alex Karras (paraphrased) on the Tonight Show talking about how the Lion’s were having a hard time standing up because they were laughing at the thought that Dempsey was even going to make an attempt. “Guys were laying on the ground, hanging on each other’s shoulder, tears in their eyes. Then, we he kicked the ball, we began to think maybe it would go through”...

Sources: MLB, union focused on plan that could allow season to start as early as May in Arizona
Major League Baseball and its players are increasingly focused on a plan that could allow them to start the season as early as May and has the support of high-ranking federal public health officials who believe the league can safely operate amid the coronavirus pandemic, sources told ESPN.
Though the plan has a number of potential stumbling blocks, it has emerged above other options as the likeliest to work and has been embraced by MLB and MLB Players Association leadership, who are buoyed by the possibility of baseball's return and the backing of federal officials, sources said.
The plan, sources said, would dictate that all 30 teams play games at stadiums with no fans in the Phoenix area, including the Arizona Diamondbacks' Chase Field, 10 spring training facilities and perhaps other nearby fields. Players, coaching staffs and other essential personnel would be sequestered at local hotels, where they would live in relative isolation and travel only to and from the stadium, sources said. Federal officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as the National Institutes of Health have been supportive of a plan that would adhere to strict isolation, promote social distancing and allow MLB to become the first professional sport to return.

To me that is a wacky solution, but might be better than the alternatives (which is no baseball). Not sure how you isolate the players from those with covid19 or stop them from spreading it. But then that is true of the economy as a whole.

A basic problem "It's one thing to convince players to return, but this plan would include hundreds of others, likely thousands. There would be people getting the fields ready, driving the players back and forth, sanitizing their rooms, providing meals, taking care of medical needs, washing the uniforms, and on and on. With no fans in the parks, you would need substantial TV crews in every park every night to make sure the product was broadcast across the country. You would need dozens of security guards to make sure, that, for example, someone didn't just walk into a hotel and find Mike Trout's room. How can you guarantee that all of those workers -- the ones who won't be making millions -- stay safe? This is not nearly as simple as sequestering 30-40 players for a few months, and even that part is complex. Almost every player on the Giants is married and most have kids. Their veteran infield starters have 10 young children just between the four of them. Trying to put players in a "bubble" is a significant, significant hurdle, and there certainly will be push back from older players financially secure enough to survive a year without full paychecks. That’s our noetsi, nattering nabob of negativity, negating nonos noon and night... Pissing pompously on all parades, pricking and pooping on the party... Nice alliteration inger. Alliterative alligators acting acidic anytime asked... Go to do something while we wait, kaybli. While we wait to get numbers, wait for this virus to go away. In the meantime we wait to see who died overnight, who dies tomorrow. Sometimes I wish we didn’t know. I wish we could hear about the miracle cure, who lived despite the doubt that they would. I don’t care about certain things right now. Don’t care if I ever sell another solar pv system. Don’t care what I do for a living, just care to have the chance to keeping living. But death is a natural part of life. We just learned that a lady a couple of doors down was told she needs a double mastectomy and that she has colorectal cancer, too. See, on top of the virus, everything they usually throw at us keeps coming, too...It’s not easy when you see these people that pray and have friends and family pray for them, but they get sick anyway. And some of them die. We know this every day, but this virus makes it harder to bear...

www.yahoo.com/news/celebrated-singer-songwriter-john-prine-014929256.htmlDamn. Sarah and I adored John Prine. I am not certain how many times we saw him live, but it was wonderful every single time. The last music my wife heard on this earth was John Prine, playing from my iPhone while she was in hospice. Lots of fantastic memories tied up in his words and music. He was a true artist, a poet really. His wit and humor shall be missed. RIP.

If its true is it negative. Yes. The truth can be negative. It is the rare man who receives news he would rather not hear that doesn’t recognize it as negative. Yet Russ, there is also truth to a saying that sometimes news is just the news, neither good nor bad. Just what it is... Paranoia is a similar subject. It’s not paranoia if it’s really happening. Just a couple of months ago a germ-phobic that was constantly washing his hands may have been looked upon as paranoid. Today, he probably still is, but he has a lot of company, which normalizes the behavior...
